The Good

  • Affordable: Only $25/hour for all services, including recording, mixing, mastering, audio restoration, etc.
  • Talented Engineering: Eric is a graduate of Capital University's Music Technology Program and the Recording Workshop. He previously served as the primary staff recording engineer for Rome Recording, where he was able to work with the best in local, regional, and national talent, and also interned at The PowerPlant Multimedia Studios. Furthermore, Eric is a musician himself (percussion), and prides himself on realizing the musical aspects of the recording process so as to make each and every client sound their absolute best.
  • Flexible: Shindig can accomodate doing recordings on location (including live concerts), mix/master tracks recorded at home or another studio, assist home recordists in getting the most from their setups, and put together radio commercials for businesses. Eric is also available for live sound engineering and has even been known to put together concert DVD's (yes, he shoots and edits video too).
  • Fun and Easy-going: The best recordings happen when the musician is relaxed. Shindig is a low-pressure environment.

The Not-Bad-But-You-Need-To-Know-About-It

  • Shindig is a project studio. Is it not meant to replace or compete with full-scale commercial recording studios. Some projects are right for Shindig--demos, local releases, keepsakes, singer/songwriters, karaoke recordings--and others simply aren't. If you are looking to make a recording that is suitable for high-level regional or national release, this isn't the place to do it! Instead, support my fellow engineers who have invested tens of thousands of dollars in the best recording equipment money can buy. That said, my clients have always been perfectly happy with the sound quality they have gotten at Shindig.
  • Shindig is a single-room basement studio. This might necessitate certain flexibility when recording, such as requiring overdubbing of instruments, placement of musicians and their equipment, etc..
  • Shindig is not Eric's full-time job. Although he wishes it was, he puts in 40 hours a week doing it for the man. Therefore Shindig can only accomodate night and weekend scheduling.
  • In line with the above, Shindig is located in a functioning residence, and the necessary respect to the residents--my dear supportive parents--is required.

Other Stuff

  • Payment is only accepted via cash or check and is due at the completion of each day of service.
  • No smoking or drinking on-site.
